Cape Town International Airport

First African Holdings Lights Up Cape Town International Airport

AfriClad, a division of First African Holdings, recently did some revamping at the Cape Town International Airport for the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA). We removed the glass sheeting and then installed roof sheeting and ACM bull nose cladding.
Our LED division also provided a lighting solution by designing, supplying and installing eight downlight units.
Metriplex Media Cladding

Metriplex Media Cladding

Metriplex Media is a local media company specialising in retail advertising via LED screens. They approached us last year to provide a cladding solution to go with their own signs.

We were asked to provide a high-tech, visually-pleasing housing for LED advertising screens at the Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. The screens were alongside the airport’s escalators. The challenge we faced was that the cladding needed to follow all along their inclining profile.

Accredited Professional on the Greener side of Architecture

Lyle Broekman is the General Manager of Cladding at AfriClad, the sub-directorate of First African Holdings. He recently finished a course that lets him help architects with green design.

The course is the Green Building Council of South Africa's (GBCSA) course. This qualifies Lyle as a Green Star SA Accredited Professional.

Accredited Seminars: Using Aluminium Composite Materials (ACM)

First African Holdings is pleased to announce that they are now offering CPD accredited seminars in Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg.

The Cape Institute for Architecture has assessed and validated this Category One CPD activity, which carries 0.6 CPD credits. (Duration 4 hours) National accreditation applicable.

Employees Benefit From Shares When They Retire

Back in 2003, First African Holdings (FAH) concluded a BBBEE transaction that saw previously disadvantaged staff take up a 40% stake in the company. We thought this would be a good strategy to look after our employees.
